Two Manchester United players have ‘liked’ the club’s goodbye post to Jadon Sancho following his return to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Following a public falling out with United manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho has returned to his previous club through the end of the current campaign.

The 23-year-old, who played for Dortmund from 2017 to 2021 before completing a £72 million move to United, will don the number 10 shirt for the team.

According to what he said on the club’s official website, “It felt like coming home when I walked into the dressing room today.” I am very familiar with the club.

“I can’t wait to see my teammates again, to get out on the pitch, play with a smile on my face, set up goals, score goals and help BVB qualify for the Champions League.”

After United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal in September, Ten Hag allegedly accused Sancho of being a “scapegoat” and said the winger wasn’t training hard enough.

Before removing it, he made a statement on X, the former name of Twitter. Sancho declined to offer a private or public apology to his manager.

The England international was forced to eat apart from his teammates and was prohibited from using Carrington’s first-team facilities.

Even so, United continued to wish Sancho luck and farewell on their Instagram page.

It says this: “Jadon Sancho has officially joined Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal that will last through the end of the campaign. Jadon, best of luck for the remainder of 2023–2024.”

Since then, two United players have been spotted by supporters liking the post. One is Marcus Rashford, with whom Sancho has been close friends for a number of years.

Rashford ‘announced’ Sancho’s transfer to United later that summer. Sancho and Rashford were members of the Three Lions team that advanced to the Euro 2020 final.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who accompanied Sancho to NBA star John Wall’s birthday celebration during the September international break, is the other.

According to reports from the previous year, a few players were attempting to persuade Sancho to apologize to Ten Hag.

Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Rashford were a few of those.

United has had difficulty scoring goals this season and is currently eighth in the Premier League standings.

With five goals, Scott McTominay leads their team, followed by Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho with three each.

Rasmus Hojlund, the new striker, scored his first goal on Boxing Day, but Antony hasn’t scored in any league this season.

In the January transfer window, United has been linked to strikers, including Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, a veteran of Bayern Munich.

On Sunday afternoon, they will play Tottenham Hotspur again.
