Liverpool’s well-earned victory over Fulham in their League Cup semi-final first leg on Wednesday marked a significant step toward their return to Wembley.
The Reds battled hard to secure a 2-1 comeback victory, with goals from Curtis Jones and substitute Cody Gakpo overturning a first-half deficit after Willian’s opener. The result means Jurgen Klopp’s men will head into the return at Craven Cottage in a fortnight with a slender advantage.
Nonetheless, a lot happened during the ninety minutes at Anfield that was overlooked or went unreported.
