Full Reason why Manchester United key players Antony, Amad and Christian Eriksen are not in the Manchester United squad vs Wigan yesterday
Amad returned to action for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest; however, he won’t be at the DW Stadium for the FA Cup matchup with Wigan.
Because they are unable to play because of illness, Christian Eriksen, Antony, and Mad will not be representing Manchester United against Wigan in the FA Cup.
The only change since the Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest 2-1 nine days ago is the addition of Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund in place of Eriksen and Antony.
Early in the second half, Amad made his first appearance for United at the City Ground in nearly two years, taking Antony’s place. But he is the squad member who died from illness the most recently.
During the game against Forest, the 21-year-old player suffered a knee injury during his comeback from a five-month absence. He was not selected by the Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations, though.
United will play at the DW Stadium with twelve players short due to the setbacks. Lisandro Martinez (foot) and Casemiro have begun team training, but it will still be “weeks” before the two players return to the field, according to United manager Erik ten Hag’s statement on Thursday.
While Mason Mount (calf) has returned to his outdoor training regimen, he is still unable to train alongside Tyrell Malacia (knee), Harry Maguire (groin), Victor Lindelof (groin), Luke Shaw, and Anthony Martial (sick). In advance of the African Cup of Nations, Sofyan Amrabat is representing Morocco internationally.
Because Eriksen, Antony, and Amad are out of the picture, United has experienced 38 separate incidents of illness and injury so far this season…
