‘No way’: Rio Ferdinand makes it clear and says Arsenal won’t be signing player dubbed ‘real deal’
If Ian Toney is able to secure a transfer to Arsenal before he returns from his betting ban, Rio Ferdinand declares
Rio Ferdinand has stated unequivocally that Ivan Toney will not be joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in January.
There are just a few days left before Ivan Toney’s eight-month suspension ends on January 16; this falls on a time when Arsenal is in dire need of a number nine following their recent slump.
Arsenal supporters were dreaming of signing the 27-year-old and hoping to do so before he was even banned.
Well, all of that talk about wanting the England star has intensified after a festive season the Gunners would like to forget, which included a disastrous start to the New Year.
Rio Ferdinand, however, stated to Vibe with Five that there is “no way” the 27-year-old will transfer to the Emirates during the January transfer window.
Do the Premier League title-chasers even have the funds to spend on a player who has been dubbed the “real deal” before they can begin?
The likely response is “no,” not because the Emirates’ ruling class is frugal with their money but rather because of FFP.
In any case, Rio Ferdinand was quite explicit about any £100 million transaction that was occurring.
Ivan Toney to Arsenal for £100m?
Ferdinand said, “No way,” in response to Arsenal’s £100 million acquisition of Toney. “Toney, stay away from Arsenal.” From a Brentford supporter to you. Information.
The forward line for Arsenal needs to improve.
They all need to wake up and start putting the ball in the net again, starting with captain Martin Odegaard and main forward Gabriel Jesus.
It’s not as though Arsenal isn’t producing opportunities. They showed that they are creating plenty of opportunities during their FA Cup loss to Liverpool.
All they lack is that bite, that finish, and that viciousness. Right now, the only real benefit is that there is still plenty of time to respond.
Sure, Arsenal is going through a difficult time right now, but they still have time to rally themselves and make sure this doesn’t end up being the worst part of their season.
