Breaking News: Roy Keane Confirm Erik ten Hag will be sacked ‘in the next few days’ after what he said following the Wigan win
In response to his remarks made after Manchester United’s victory over Wigan Athletic, Roy Keane predicts that Erik ten Hag will lose his job as manager “in the next few months.”
Man United defeated the opposition 2-0 at the DW Stadium on Monday, averting an FA Cup upset.
In the 22nd minute, Bruno Fernandes doubled his team’s lead from the penalty spot after winning a contentious penalty kick, with Diogo Dalot having opened the score.
In the following round of competition, the Red Devils will visit Eastleigh or Newport County.
Ten Hag commented on the outcome, saying: “Winning is the main goal of the FA Cup; it is a knockout competition. You wish to complete the task. “Job done,” is what I said in the changing room.
Additionally, the Dutchman brought up the “project” at Man United, which infuriated Keane, who was doing punditry work for ITV.
When asked if he could see Ten Hag’s ideas coming to pass, the Irishman answered frank but disagreed. That, in my opinion, is United’s main drawback—you always know what to expect when you arrive.”
“The manager there mentions the ‘project,’ which probably means he’ll be leaving in the coming months,” Keane continued. The hated term “project.” No, I haven’t seen it in a few months, and I didn’t see it tonight with United either.
“But once more, they advance to the next round, and this time around it’s a simple draw, but you need to perform at a higher level. And you always hope for more, given the opportunities they had tonight.”
Man United will play Tottenham, who are currently in fifth place, in their return to the Premier League on Sunday. Man United lost their most recent league game to Nottingham Forest.
Ahead of their crucial match at Old Trafford, Ten Hag’s team sits in eighth place in the standings with 31 points.
