“Here we go!”: Fabrizio Romano confirms Jadon Sancho’s move to Borussia Dortmund

It has been said: the three words that will now represent the transfer window have begun.

The decision by Fabrizio Romano to send Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund is a “Here we go.”

Romano stated that Dortmund will pay roughly €4 million for the package, which includes a buyout option that expires at the end of the current campaign.

Sancho is scheduled to depart later today for a medical examination; an official statement is anticipated to be released shortly.

Dortmund will take no financial risk by agreeing to pay a portion of Sancho’s salary.

Sancho is currently at an all-time low in terms of value, so United is expected to make a final decision regarding his future in the summer.

For the time being, though, it ends a terrible spell for a player whose move to Old Trafford held great promise.

After two years of a drawn-out saga, the player finally joined the team, but he never really settled in as manager after manager tried the reward-and-penalty model with him.

He is leaving United as a distressed asset, meaning that, from a player once predicted to be a consistent Ballon d’Or contender, his value has completely collapsed.

With the transfer, United is hoping that Sancho’s talent will be rekindled in a familiar, low-pressure environment, allowing them to trade him for a high price in the summer.

Given his advanced age, he has a good chance of realizing his dream of rejoining United if he can regain the form that made him so desirable.

After all, the winger’s future at Old Trafford doesn’t appear to be guaranteed as long as Erik ten Hag remains employed by the organization.
