UK viewers will not be able to see Chelsea’s Conference League play-off match against Servette on television, much to the disappointment of fans.

Chelsea commence their European campaign on Thursday.
The first-leg playoff against Servette will take place at Stamford Bridge.
This match will not be televised in the United Kingdom.
Chelsea have been relegated to UEFA’s third-tier league following a rather underwhelming performance in their domestic campaign last season. The Blues achieved a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, which would have guaranteed them a position in the Europa League. However, due to Manchester United’s victory in the FA Cup, they were demoted to the Europa Conference League instead.
Although there is excitement surrounding Chelsea’s comeback in European play, fans will need to seek alternative methods to view the game, as conventional broadcasting channels will not be televising the match. The primary factor contributing to the absence of television coverage is the unavailability of broadcasting rights for the play-off stage of both the Europa League and Europa Conference League in the UK. While play-off matches in the Champions League are televised, the lower-tier competitions lack similar broadcasting arrangements for their first rounds.

Chelsea have capitalised on the opportunity to sell the television rights for these play-off matches separately, since they are available for the teams involved to do so. As a reaction, they have declared their intention to broadcast both matches of the competition versus Servette on their official website and App. By paying a cost of £4.99, fans can have access to the live stream and observe the events from the convenience of their residences.
Achieving victory in the initial match at Stamford Bridge would provide the Blues with a notable upper hand in the subsequent match, set to take place on Thursday, August 29, at Stade de Geneve. However, amidst the two European matches, they will also journey to Molineux to confront Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.
