Man Utd reach verbal agreement, must pay £21million to secure key signing – Reports
INEOS acquired a 25% stake in Manchester United in return for gaining control over the sporting aspects of the club. Their primary objective is to obtain the appointment of a sporting director as their first major signing.
There are allegations suggesting that Newcastle United’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, is being considered as a potential candidate for a position at Old Trafford. These sources further suggest that there has been a verbal agreement to attract him to the Red Devils.
Inter Live reports that Manchester United has established a verbal agreement with Ashworth, who may attempt to acquire players such as Gleison Bremer and Nicolo Barella for the club.
The 53-year-old successfully recruited Sandro Tonali for the Magpies during the summer, but was unsuccessful in his attempt to acquire Barella. Currently, he has the ability to make a strong effort to get the midfielder if he becomes a member of the 20-time English champions.
According to Shields Gazzette, Ashworth’s contract does not include a specific release clause, but the terms of the arrangement are intricate and make it difficult for him to join United.
According to the news source, Newcastle United is requesting a compensation cost of £21 million in order to transfer its sporting director to Manchester United.
Recent discussions have advanced, however, the St. James’ Park team is currently uninterested in reducing the requested price.
Man Utd is required to pay £21 million in order to obtain the signature of Dan Ashworth.
Throughout the years, numerous high-value acquisitions have proven unsuccessful at Old Trafford, and Manchester United can no longer afford to squander their funds.
Hence, it is vital to recruit a proficient sporting director like Ashworth to enhance the caliber of the team. Do you believe that Man Utd should allocate £21 million to get his services?
