Italian trade analyst Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United has agreed to sign teenage defensive midfielder Sekou Kone from Guidars FC.

The Red Devils have now beat out multiple bidders for the 18-year-old’s services after initially being linked to him earlier this summer.

Even though Erik ten Hag, the manager of Man United, wants to add a player in that position to his side, Kone will not be joining the first team after his transfer is complete.

The young phenom, who was signed with the long term in mind, much as they did with former Arsenal youth striker Chido Obi-Martin, will be joining the Old Trafford club’s youth ranks.

Kone was linked to Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and RB Salzburg after he made an impression with Mali in the most recent under-17 World Cup with some standout displays in the middle of the field.

Even though France eliminated his nation in the competition’s semifinals, Kone received a lot of praise for his ability to stabilise their midfield and show maturity and skill above his years.

The future star of the Red Devils youth team helped his nation defeat Argentina in the third-place play-off by contributing two assists during the competition.

One of the world’s most gifted kids has joined Man United, and in a few years, the Malian may well be calling the first team’s door open.

The Red Devils are making sure they sign some of the top young players in the globe in addition to making some excellent senior-level acquisitions as far this summer.

They can sign more young players for the squad in the near future and save millions of dollars on transfers in the process.

Kone might soon be training with the big boys on a regular basis in the upcoming months, and if he shows himself, he might even make his first-team debut shortly. Ten Hag has often demonstrated his willingness to incorporate the younger players in his plans as long as they are good enough.
