“Tottenham will never ceases to regret selling him”-Troy Deeney suggests Tottenham sold a defender in 2017 who is better than Ledley King
“Tottenham will never ceases to regret selling him”—Troy Deeney-Spurs sold a better defender than Ledley King in 2017.
According to Troy Deeney, Tottenham sold Kyle Walker in 2017 and Ledley King isn’t as good as him.
In a TikTok video, the 35-year-old made the remarks.
Now, what about the rumours surrounding Tottenham legend Ledley King and Kyle Walker? Now, let’s examine it…
Compared to Ledley King, Troy Deeney ranks Kyle Walker higher.
The Spurs faithful, I’m sure, will have plenty to say about this.
Deeney was participating in a TikTok game where he had to rank a bunch of football players from 1 to 10.
The Birmingham man finished the video by placing Walker at #4 and then dropping King in at #10.
Aside from stating that “Kyle is up there” with the best, Deeney provided little explanation for his decision. He also mentioned that he “was happy” with King at No. 10 because of King’s limited game time.
Despite his career-ending injury woes, the 43-year-old made 322 appearances for Tottenham and became a beloved figure for N17 fans.
In July 2017, Spurs sold Walker to Manchester City for £50 million. Walker played 227 times for Spurs before leaving north London.
The Tottenham faithful will strongly disagree.
Although Walker is undeniably a legendary defender, we (and I imagine many Spurs fans) believe that Deeney has undervalued King in this situation.
King, who would have been more prominent if he hadn’t had injury problems, was ranked lower than players like Micah Richards and Gary Cahill.
Gabriel Agbonlahor is among many who think the Londoner, had he been more fortunate with his fitness, could have been one of his generation’s best defenders.
No defender as gifted as King should be buried at the bottom of Deeney’s list, but Walker is rightfully ranked fourth.
