Tottenham potential lineup with Timo Werner after Completing agreement to join Tottenham as former Chelsea star arrives in London to complete his loan move…
After an agreement to join the club is finalized, Timo Werner could be a major addition to Tottenham’s likely starting lineup. In order to complete his loan transfer, the former Chelsea player has now arrived in London, bolstering Tottenham’s roster even more.
In order to complete his loan move to Tottenham Hotspur, Timo Werner is anticipated to travel to London. This is only a year and a half after he returned to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga from Chelsea.
Timo Werner is expected to arrive at Tottenham tonight to finalize the details of his loan agreement, according to football.london. The gifted former Chelsea player has agreed to a six-month loan agreement in north London, with an alluring buyout option worth about £15.5 million.
The 27-year-old was reportedly under Manchester United’s radar as soon as the January transfer window opened, and Spurs wasted no time in closing a deal for him. With this agreement, the club will have the coverage it needs while Son Heung-min is away at the Asian Cup this month. The possibility of permanently signing the German forward at a lower cost exists if he plays well for the rest of the season, which would be a wise decision for the team.
It is noteworthy that Werner has prior Premier League experience, having gone through a difficult phase while at Chelsea from 2020 to 2022. Even though he helped the Blues win the Champions League, he only scored 10 Premier League goals in his two seasons at Stamford Bridge, which was a somewhat disappointing goal total in domestic competitions.
But in 89 games for the Blues, he scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists, meaning he was involved in a goal in nearly every other game. He was unable, regrettably, to match his incredible performance from the previous Premier League season, when he led Leipzig with 13 assists and 34 goals in 45 games played. He had already demonstrated his ability with a few standout seasons before that.
The forward joined Leipzig again in 2022, this time for a four-year deal estimated to be worth £25 million. Nevertheless, he’s only managed to score twice this season, compared to nine goals in the Bundesliga during his rookie campaign. Consequently, the German team has given him permission to go on loan this month.
Ange Postecoglou has been making a concerted effort to bolster the team’s position at center back. Radu Dragusin was one player who was closely associated with the team at the beginning of the month. The transfer involving Dragusin is still pending, despite the manager’s obvious intention to close deals early in the transfer window.
Werner is expected to be the first new signing for Spurs this month. Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon will also be rejoining the team after their loan stints at Leeds United and Manchester United ended prematurely, respectively.
