Marcus Rashford to Barcelona?! Hansi Flick ‘requests’ transfer swoop for Man Utd winger after failed Nico Williams pursuit

Since assuming control of Barcelona, Flick has explicitly expressed his desire to have a proficient left winger on his team who had the ability to both score and dribble. Consequently, the Catalan giants set their sights on Williams from Athletic Club at the beginning of this summer and intensified their efforts after the winger excelled in Spain’s Euro 2024 victory. Nevertheless, it appears that Athletic Club is currently unwilling to let its prominent winger to depart during the upcoming summer.
Considering the unlikelihood of Williams joining the club, Barcelona has discovered alternative options, one of which being Kingsley Coman, a French attacker now out of favour at Bayern Munich. Another unexpected name that has emerged on their list is Rashford from Manchester United. According to GOL Sport journalist Albert Fernandez, Flick has allegedly asked the club to recruit the English winger.
Last season, the 26-year-old player for United achieved a total of only eight goals and six assists in all competitions. His performances received much criticism. Gareth Southgate excluded him from the England squad that went to Germany for Euro 2024 due to his unsatisfactory performance. So far this season, the attacker has appeared in both of the Red Devils’ matches, although his performances in those games have been lacklustre.
The Catalan club has not yet presented a formal proposal for the Three Lions player, and it is uncertain whether they will contemplate a transfer before the summer transfer season concludes. Rashford’s next appearance will be for United, managed by Erik ten Hag, on Saturday when they face Brighton in the Premier League.
