‘I’m sorry’: Pundit baffled as Man United reportedly eye 50-year-old manager if Erik ten Hag leaves

After learning that Thomas Frank has caught the attention of Manchester United in the event that Erik ten Hag decides to depart Old Trafford prior to next season, Craig Burley has reached a verdict.

Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag isn’t without his detractors. Even after the Dutchman had a promising debut season with the club, they don’t seem to have accomplished much.

The idea that ten Hag will remain with Manchester United for the upcoming season is surprising to some. There appears to be preparations underway at INEOS in anticipation of a possible change in the near future.

According to Craig Burley, Thomas Frank is not the manager of Manchester United.
Roberto De Zerbi, Gareth Southgate, and Thomas Frank are allegedly being pursued by Manchester United. Other names, though, are also visible in the picture.

Many have praised De Zerbi for his efforts at Brighton. Plus, Thomas Frank’s performance at the Gtech Community Stadium has been outstanding.

However, this season has been more difficult for the Bees. Craig Burley, in an interview with ESPN, implied that bringing in the Dane would be a huge risk.

Thomas Frank has been an excellent manager for Brentford, in my opinion. Things like their recruiting practices, analytics usage, and so on. When his team fell behind Chelsea last weekend, he was understandably irritated because his fans booed. “How far have we come?” he asks. In my opinion, though, he is not the right man to manage Manchester United. “That’s a big step,” he apologized.

When Erik ten Hag departs, the club faces a dilemma regarding their future.
The lack of experience managing a club of Manchester United’s caliber is likely to be their biggest issue.

Furthermore, they have a history of disappointingly selecting managers at that level.

In the past ten years, they have taken many different routes. And in all that time, there have been hardly any encouraging signs.

It seems to reason that Frank will eventually be given the chance to move on to the next level. However, it would not be shocking if a large number of Manchester United supporters shared Burley’s opinion about the 50-year-old.
