“I want Arsenal back and will do whatever it’s takes to move to the club because….” – Player admits he would love Gunners return, ‘really wanted’ to break through at club

“I will do whatever it takes to move to the club because I want Arsenal back.” Donyell Malen, a forward for Borussia Dortmund, has stated that he would love to return to Arsenal. He played there as a young player but was never able to make it into the first squad. Malen said he “really wanted” to break through at the club.

The Dutchman has been discussing his career to date, which included a youth stint at Arsenal, with Voetbal Zone in the Netherlands.

The forward, who has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 30 games across all competitions this season, has been strongly linked to leaving his current team, Dortmund, this summer.

According to a report that surfaced today, Dortmund may list him for sale in the summer in an effort to raise money for a team rebuild.
Despite the players’ strong ties to the club, Arsenal has not yet been included in the mix of suitors from the Premier League.
Malen was a young player who came from Ajax to join Arsenal’s U17 team in 2015. He spent three years at the club, rising through the ranks to the U23s, before leaving to try and launch his professional career at PSV Eindhoven.

That proved effective, and he is now admitting that he would love to go back to the Emirates and establish himself if a move is planned for this summer.

He remarked, “I think that is a beautiful dream because I played in England as a youth and it is a dream to play in the Premier League.”

“Yes, them, because I went to Arsenal. My favorite team, Arsenal, is what I want. Absolutely, regarding going back there. Yes, I played there when I was younger and truly wanted to succeed there.

There are moments in a football player’s career when they simply must make a choice. Sure, I was training with the first team and, at the age of 17, 18, I did make progress in my physical appearance, but I really believed that I needed to focus on becoming a professional football player.

“When I was still playing youth football, I also watched my teammates play professional football, and I just knew (leaving) was the right thing to do.”
