Chelsea fans turn on Pochettino in draw at Brentford in EPL
LONDON (AP) Chelsea fans criticized Mauricio Pochettino as they witnessed their team struggle to a 2-2 draw against west London rival Brentford in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Nicolas Jackson scored a header in the 35th minute to give the Blues the lead, but Mads Roerslev equalized with a close-range shot in the 50th minute.
Yoane Wissa scored a stunning overhead kick for Brentford in the 69th minute, prompting the away fans to chant the name of former manager Jose Mourinho and cry for Pochettino’s departure.
The Blues earned a draw on Pochettino’s 52nd birthday when Axel Disasi scored from Cole Palmer’s cross.
The point left Chelsea languishing in 11th place in another dismal league campaign and the first season under Pochettino.
