Broken collarbone might end this Liverpool stars season

Kostas Tsimikas is hoping that his broken collarbone against Arsenal hasn’t ended his season.

The Greek sustained the injury as a result of an unlucky touchline collision with manager Jurgen Klopp during last week’s 1-1 draw between the Reds and Arsenal.

Following the match, Klopp made the following statement: “Kostas Tsimikas has a broken collarbone.

“We’ll have to wait and see about the rest [of his injury]. We find it difficult to accept that Robbo has been out for an extended period of time.

There have been worries that Tsimikas may have played his final game of the season because the recovery time from such an injury is usually talked about in months rather than weeks.

This Is Anfield is aware that the defender is upbeat about his chances of playing again this season, though.

He has already started a rehabilitation program that, should it be successful, will allow him to participate in the run-in.

Consequently, Tsimikas still has the opportunity to increase his total of 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

The fact that fellow left-back Andy Robertson is getting close to making a comeback has helped to lessen the blow of losing the 27-year-old.

The Scottish player is anticipated to return to action in late October after dislocating his shoulder while on international duty.

Liverpool is anticipated to revive their interest in a former transfer target in January.

When Liverpool was looking for a midfield solution during the summer, Nicolo Barella of Inter Milan was heavily linked to the club.

But despite Jurgen Klopp supposedly being ‘obsessed’ with signing Barella, a move never materialised. Rather, different options were investigated. However, given that the Reds are reportedly looking to add another player, Italian publication L’Interista has now suggested that Liverpool may be targeting the 26-year-old once more.

It appears that the primary concern is Barella’s contract situation. Even though their star midfielder is committed to Inter until at least 2026, the Milan team is reportedly a little concerned about his situation.

There is supposedly “no hurry” to get Barella a new contract because his current one has two and a half years left on it. Inter, however, is rumored to be unable to refuse a “monster” offer from one of the English teams that is interested.

In light of this, Liverpool is said to have shown “great interest” in hiring Barella. Chelsea and Newcastle United are reportedly keeping an eye on the Italy international as well, and Inter is willing to advance contract talks with him until the start of 2024.

Liverpool is still considering Barella.

It appears that Liverpool is always involved in Barella’s transfer window signing.

However, the Reds intended to bring the former Cagliari player to Anfield last summer.

“Liverpool now has an attacking player who reminds me of Luis Suarez,” Emil Heskey says.

Barella appeared to be a serious candidate to occupy the open midfield positions. Liverpool, perhaps put off by his high asking price and the challenge of getting him out of Inter, never did make a formal offer, though.

Of course, there could be no real doubts about the Italian’s ability. Barella has received accolades from a number of people in the past, including Jamie Carragher, who described him as “fantastic” after a memorable showing in the Champions League the season before.

It is clear that his abrasive yet skillful style would have blended in perfectly with Liverpool’s midfield.

But perhaps the Reds decided it would be better to look elsewhere, considering the rumors that Barella would demand at least £52 million.

Given that he will turn 27 in February, you would have to assume that this will-he-won’t-he story is pretty much over.

It’s understandable that Inter would be a little displeased with Barella’s contract. There are still more than two years left on it, so we don’t think they should be overly worried. Barella is an Inter boy. We think he intends to make a name for himself at San Siro and that he is here to stay.
