Arteta is upset because club owner Stan Kroenke informed him today that he will sell his favorite player this week—not Nketiah or Smith Rowe—in order to pay for the transfer to Arsenal.

Despite their hunt for a new left-back, sources have told Football Insider that Kieran Tierney is not expected to return to Arsenal this month.

Currently, Tierney is loaned to Real Sociedad in La Liga for the entire season.

The Scotland international is not expected to return to the Emirates Stadium this month, as the Gunners are reportedly keeping an eye on overseas prospects in an attempt to bolster their roster.

The 26-year-old was hindered by injuries while playing for Arsenal, and Football Insider has learned from a reliable source that Arteta is unwilling to bring the former Celtic player back.

It’s thought that the Spaniard doesn’t think he can depend on the defender to be healthy in the long run.

According to sources, “all signs” still point to the defender leaving the team during the summer transfer window, either to Sociedad or to another team.

In addition, Tierney has stated he has no intention of going back to England this month and that his future is uncertain.

This season, the defender has made 12 appearances for Real Sociedad in all competitions and has one assist.

However, he experienced yet another set of injury issues in October, missing five straight La Liga games due to a hamstring problem.

Throughout his 124 appearances with Arsenal, Tierney provided 14 assists in addition to five goals.

He has a contract with North London that runs through June 2026.
