The defending champions, Manchester City, are reportedly close to finalising one of their biggest summer transfers at ZERO COST after repelling an outrageous attempt by Arsenal to take over.

In the post-Klopp era, Liverpool is somewhat of an unknown, and it is generally believed that Arsenal and Man City will square off in a straight-up title match for 2024–25.

Arsenal added Riccardo Calafiori to their roster this summer, signed David Raya to a long-term contract, and are hoping to finalise an agreement to acquire Mikel Merino, a midfielder for Real Sociedad, in the near future.

Man City, on the other hand, might be worse off than they were at the end of the previous campaign.

Arriving from Girona, Brazilian winger Savinho gave an incredibly encouraging performance against Chelsea before being forced off due to a knee injury at halftime.

Unfortunately, Oscar Bobb suffered a fractured leg, which would keep the striker out of action for three to four months, while Julian Alvarez was sold to Atletico Madrid.

With players like Ederson, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Kevin De Bruyne, and Bernardo Silva all being older than thirty, Man City’s roster is also significantly older than Arsenal’s.

However, experience comes with age, and few players in the league have more than five Premier League championships under their belts than Ilkay Gundogan.

The sophisticated 33-year-old joined Barcelona as a free agent last summer, agreeing to a two-year contract after leaving Man City.

But Gundogan is expected to return to Man City and is also expected to leave Barcelona after just one season.

Man City rejects Arsenal’s advances
On Monday, TEAMtalk took the lead by exclusively disclosing that Pep Guardiola has approved Gundogan’s comeback.

Barcelona can’t register new signing Dani Olmo until they sell a player. Guardiola and Man City are thrilled that Gundogan is the guy they have targeted for departure.

According to reports, Gundogan was being courted by championship rivals Arsenal to go to the Emirates. Due to his tenure as Guardiola’s assistant, Gundogan is well-known to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who continues to be a great fan of the midfield player.

But according to a recent update from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the move that is currently progressing is a return to the Etihad.

Furthermore, Barcelona is willing to sell Gundogan on a free transfer as a result of their desperate need to move a player.

Gundogan making a free return to Man City
Romano said on X: “It is my understanding that Barcelona has made the decision to allow Ilkay Gündogan to depart for free.

“To complete the comeback, Manchester City is currently working with Gundogan’s agency in the UK on the specifics of the agreement.

“Yes, as previously disclosed by Pep Guardiola. up to Gundo’s approval.

Guardiola’s team will benefit from the return of one of the Premier League’s recent greats if Gundogan does indeed sign a contract in Manchester without having to pay a fee.

Gundogan finished his three-year stint with Man City with 29 goals in the Premier League. His arrival will be remembered as one of the best and most strategic moves of the summer if it enables City to defeat Arsenal and win the Premier League for a record five times.
