Arsenal might loose this star to championsleague rivals
This season, the Gunners defender has primarily played left back since he has fallen in Ben White’s pecking order at right back.
Even though he is still an important member of the team, Tomiyasu has reportedly been considered for a return to Serie A, according to Calciomercato.
According to the report, there is a chance that the Arsenal player will visit Italy again in January.
Tomiyasu was reportedly offered a spot in the Naples club, and it appears that this opportunity has arisen in the “last few hours.”
But Napoli faces a “double problem” if they hope to sign the Gunners defender for next month.
Among them is Mikel Arteta, who sees Tomiyasu as an asset to the team rather than an unnecessary addition.
According to Calciomercato, the manager of Arsenal might reconsider if the Italians presented a “good offer,” allowing the Gunners to select his replacement.
Tomiyasu’s commitment to represent Japan at the Asian Cup in January presents another challenge for Napoli as it may keep him out of club action until mid-February.
Takehiro Tomiyasu is unlikely to leave Arsenal in January, according to TBR
The likelihood that Arsenal will permit Tomiyasu to depart during the January transfer window is incredibly low.
He is no longer a consistent starter, but when healthy, he still plays a lot and is a “world-class” player with the ideal mindset.
Even if Arteta chose to grant Tomiyasu’s request to leave for first-team football security, it is likely that the transfer would take place towards the end of the season rather than in the middle of it.
This season, a number of clubs have suffered from player injuries or suspensions, forcing them to field thin squads that have produced subpar outcomes.
In light of that, Arteta would undoubtedly refrain from purposefully undermining his team’s depth in the middle of the season.
