See Artetas reaction after Gabriel jesus’s west ham miss
Mikel Arteta’s actions following Gabriel Jesus’s West Ham miss reveal a great deal about Arsenal’s transfer strategy.
The Gunners manager watched as his team lost 2-0 to West Ham at the Emirates Stadium, putting on yet another wasteful performance.
Mikel Arteta observed Arsenal’s wastefulness during their 2-0 Premier League loss to West Ham.
Throughout the season, it has been the big problem. The one topic that Arsenal has refused to discuss.
Any fan of Arsenal will tell you that things have changed this season. This season, the Gunners haven’t really hit top gear, unlike last year when it seemed like they were racing headlong toward an unavoidable crash.
Mikel Arteta has managed to paint this in a favorable light. He would contend that his side has the absolute control over the games he so desperately wants. With an additional year of experience in the championship race, they have mainly mastered the art of navigating the tight turns and chicanes with the kind of cruise control needed to finish the course.
However, there is a key distinction from the previous season. This is not a title that is based on aggressive, high-speed football. Instead, the Gunners’ defensive performance is what helped them win the league at Christmas. The only team with fewer goals conceded than them is Liverpool. However, Arsenal is not even among the top six in terms of goals scored.
