We are thrilled that our Chief Executive, Vinai Venkatesham, has been recognized in the New Year’s Honours List 2024, which was just released.

Vinai, who joined the team in 2010, received an OBE in recognition of his contributions to sports. Prior to becoming Head of Global Partnerships at Arsenal, he was a member of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics commercial team, which brought the world cup to his hometown. In addition, Vinai has been an independent non-executive director for the British Olympic Association since 2017. He served in the same capacity for the London-hosted 2017 World Athletics Championships.

“On behalf of everyone at Arsenal Football Club, we congratulate Vinai on being named in the New Year Honours List 2024 in recognition of his services to sport,” said Tim Lewis, Executive Vice-Chair, speaking on behalf of the Arsenal Board.

He has been a key player in the sports world for almost 20 years, first representing our city and then the club in Europe and beyond.

“Vinai joins an esteemed group of Arsenal supporters who have been honored in the New Year’s Honours lists and who have all made significant contributions to the team and the sports industry. We adore them all so much.

Vinai expressed his humility upon being awarded an OBE for his services to sport in the New Year’s Honours list.

“Teamwork and smart colleagues have allowed me to achieve everything I’ve been a part of during my time in sports, as well as all the opportunities I’ve been so fortunate to have.”

Therefore, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone I had the pleasure of working with at London 2012, the London 2017 World Athletics Championships, the British Olympic Association, UEFA, ECA, the Premier League, The FA, the Women’s Super League, and of course the Board and everyone else at Arsenal, where I have had the honor of working for more than ten years.

“My family, especially my wife Liz, deserves the biggest thank you of all for their steadfast support.”

Vinai deserves congratulations. The entire Arsenal team is incredibly proud of this acknowledgment.
