A SAVIOUR-Jose Mourinho has already approved Man Utd candidate to replace Erik ten Hag
Jose Mourinho anticipated that Gareth Southgate would possess the ability to undertake “any position” in the future, as rumors emerged connecting the England manager with Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag is now the manager of the Red Devils. However, his position is at risk as Manchester United is significantly trailing behind the other top teams in the Premier League. They are currently 11 points behind fourth place, and if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, it is highly likely to have severe consequences for the former Ajax director.
Although Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new part-owner, has not yet made a decision regarding a potential change in management, there have been several prominent coaches who have been associated with the position in recent weeks. According to a recent report from ESPN, Southgate has been identified as the most recent potential target.
The England manager is already making arrangements for the upcoming European Championships, however, his contract with The Football Association is set to expire in December. At the start of the year, he disclosed that Mourinho, who used to be associated with United, had assured him that he would have the ability to handle any position following his stint as the manager of his national team.
During an interview with Sky Sports, Southgate stated that he was 35 years old when he first managed in the Premier League and his team finished in 12th and 13th place. I possessed a complete lack of knowledge compared to my current level of understanding. Having experienced this particular work, there is no job in the world of football that would make you feel intimidated or overwhelmed.
“During a conversation with Jose Mourinho while he was managing Manchester United, he expressed to me that once I have successfully fulfilled my current position, I will possess the capability to excel in any endeavor.” I initially believed that it was likely correct, but after seven years, I can confidently say that it is indeed correct. I possess a strong sense of assurance in this position and remain undeterred by any uncertainties that may lie ahead.
“Naturally, I won’t be present for a duration of 20 to 30 years, and I lack knowledge of what lies ahead in the future.” I am composed and unperturbed by the situation, and I do not harbor any concerns over its nature.
Amidst conjecture, he recently said reporters, “I am bound by a contractual agreement for a duration of three seasons, therefore I am indifferent.” I am currently engrossed in this process and am solely dedicated to it, hence I am indifferent to any external occurrences.
“I frequently engage in discussions with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as well as Sir Dave Brailsford and other members of that group. As a result, I am well-informed about the subject matter and I possess a strong conviction that they have faith in me.”
