DEAL COMPLETED: The £60 million forward who scored 17 goals for the team previous season has been accepted by Chelsea to join the team. Last night, the player accepted Chelsea’s offer, which Fabrizio Romano confirmed this morning.

Despite having Joao Felix yesterday night, the Blues have not yet found a viable choice who could save their forward line. According to additional sources, the Blues may go elsewhere to get a fresh name before the weekend.

Felix is scheduled to get a physical at Chelsea right now, according to Fabrizio Romano, before moving to west London for six years. Additionally, this will result in Conor Gallagher joining Atletico Madrid. Gallagher was in Madrid for five days last week, but he had to return to England when the deal fell through due to Samu Omorodion’s move going the other way.

Chelsea’s roster is still far too large, so cutting down on players on the books at Cobham over the next two weeks—or even less than they are now—will be crucial. Speaking following the loss to Manchester City, Maresca acknowledged that a number of players will need to leave within the last few days of the transfer season.

After the match, the Italian declared to the media, “I want Raheem Sterling, but I want all 30 players we have.” However, there isn’t room for them all. Thus, some of them are forced to depart.

Maresca brought up Sterling, who was not included on Chelsea’s 20-man roster for their matchup with Manchester City, his old team. Reps for the 29-year-old issued a statement following the public confirmation of Maresca’s “technical decision.” At this point, there are serious concerns about Sterling’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Additionally, players connected to departures prior to the transfer deadline include Gallagher (see above), Djordje Petrovic, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, Tino Anjorin, Armando Broja, and David Datro Fofana. A portion of them might relocate on a temporary basis, while others would depart permanently.

The Blues may yet add more players, as Enzo Maresca has already declared that he will sign players going forward, even though players like Ben Chiwell and Raheem Sterling are still being linked to potential departures.
