When speaking about his limited opportunities at Manchester United and his decision to sign a season-long loan with Granada, Facundo Pellistri was diplomatic.

Pellistri joined during the January transfer window, and the Spanish team is fully compensating him. The winger is once again enjoying his football in Andalusia, and United received a loan fee.

Since joining Granada on loan, the 22-year-old has started every La Liga match. Edgardo Lasalvia, his agent, recently stated on a Uruguayan radio station that he would not be returning to Manchester as long as Erik ten Hag was managing United.

Regarding his client’s future, Pellistri’s agent stated, “if Ten Hag continues, it’s going to be difficult.” However, the player remained tactful when questioned about it this week.

Pellistri, who was cited by ESPN, addressed questions about his circumstances at United, his Champions League debut, and his loan period at a press conference in Granada.

“Given the situation I was in, the minutes I played for Manchester United were not as many as I would have liked. I’m glad I got to spend some time here,” Pellistri remarked.

“We should have had a little more in that fantastic match, but the goal against Barcelona came in it. We are thrilled to be able to accomplish the goal and are ready to face what is left. You can dream and have a chance of realizing your dreams if you see the table and the fixture.

“Everything about my time in Manchester was amazing, including the moments I spent with the world’s best players and the crucial games I got to play. I’m currently searching for additional minutes.

“I am very happy with the opportunity and with how things are going, and when the time comes I will put everything on the scale and see what to do.”

“It was a dream night, making my Champions League debut with the Bayern stadium full, playing against one of the best in the world was a unique experience,” Pellistri said in response to a question regarding his start against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in September.

“A player is always eager to play, and frequently they don’t consider other factors when making decisions; the manager has a lot on their plate. The player frequently has no idea what the coach is thinking or why he makes the choices that he does.

“One must be prepared and make the most of each moment.” It was an incredible challenge to play against Bayern and my first time at that level.”

“United were not winning games,” he continued. Everything gets harder and daily life gets more complicated when a great team gets involved. It has now picked up a bit, and hopefully the objective of qualifying for the Champions League will be accomplished by the end of the season.

“I’ve played three games and was able to start all three, so I feel very at ease here at Granada. I experience that confidence every day.” From a human perspective, I’m thrilled and excited to keep playing and succeed in our goal of avoiding relegation.

“When a player goes out on loan it is to look for minutes, gain continuity and try to gain confidence.”
