Erik ten Hag’s team has had a mixed bag of a year; they won trophies the previous season but were dealt a bad hand in the current campaign.

There are many things to be proud of from the previous year, including top goal scorers and appearance makers.

Though none of the players appeared in all 66 games during the year, one nearly did. Naturally, Bruno Fernandes, who assumed captaincy at the beginning of the 23/24 season, is the Reds’ most featured player. Over the course of the calendar year, our number eight appeared in 62 games, closely trailed by Marcus Rashford, who started in 58.

Academy-made item Among the players who have played the most under Ten Hag is Alejandro Garnacho, who was rewarded with a long-term contract at the club following his breakout season the previous season.

It comes as no surprise that Rashford is ranked highest on the 2023 scorers list after an especially impressive 2022–2023 season. Over the previous 12 months, our number 10 has scored 22 goals, with captain Bruno coming in second with 16 goals.

Despite being an unlikely leader in goals scored, Casemiro, Garnacho, and Scott McTominay are all in the running with ten goals each.

The team has divided up the duty of managing games and scoring goals over the past year. Everybody has contributed, from regular starters to seasoned players to recent Carrington graduates rising through the ranks. While it was all about replacements playing their part off the bench last term, it appears that this term’s injury crisis for Ten Hag’s team is being handled by the Academy kids.

We have used 35 different players in the 66 games as a result, and 20 Reds have contributed to the 104 goals (including own goals) that we have scored.
