“What they did today, I won’t forget even in a hurry…I instructed all the whole team but THREE of them disobeyed”: Erik ten Hag names THREE players who ignored his order and did exactly opposite which led to Man United defeat today

Three players were called out for enabling Simon Adingra to cut in and cross during Brighton’s late winner at the Amex Stadium. Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, said he and his team will “talk about” the defensive performance that resulted in the victory.

In the fifth of seven additional minutes in the second half, Adingra’s back-post pass landed flush on Joao Pedro’s head, leaving custodian Andre Onana powerless. Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, and, to a lesser extent, Kobbie Mainoo all permitted Adingra to use his preferred right foot, which has led to widespread criticism of United’s defence.

And as the full-time whistle blew, Ten Hag did not disguise his feelings towards the three in issue.

He declared, “We didn’t stop the cross.” Three right-footed players had the opportunity to send him down the line and stop the cross. We need to discuss this and how, as a team, we handle that circumstance.

Danny Welbeck, a former academy product, scored United’s first goal of the game when he slid in to convert Kaoru Mitoma’s low cross. However, Ten Hag’s team equalised the score on the hour mark through Amad Diallo.

Alejandro Garnacho’s finish in the second half gave the Red Devils the appearance of winning the match, but VAR determined that it struck Joshua Zirkzee, who was offside, as it entered the net.

Next came Pedro’s victory, which made Ten Hag regret a performance he believed was riddled with mistakes. He said, “There was more than one mistake.” “We need to discuss it. We shouldn’t have lost the game, but we were very close to doing so.

“These are two extremely flimsy goals. We ought to have performed better. I’ve seen both good and bad portions of the game. We ought to have better influence over the game early on in the second half. We ought to be more aggressive and clinical in both boxes.
