We will be able to run all over them’: Everton ace makes confident admission ahead of Old Trafford trip
As they prepare to visit Old Trafford, Everton star admits with confidence, “We will be able to run all over them.”
Everton will be visiting Old Trafford this Saturday, and Jordan Pickford is feeling confident about the match.
The Toffees will be seeking revenge for two consecutive Premier League losses when they visit M16 to face Erik ten Hag’s downcast Reds, fresh off a 3-1 loss to West Ham United.
In recent weeks, Everton have had some good news: their 10-point deduction was reduced to six points at the end of February, and they were able to return four points, which lifted them out of the bottom three and put them five points clear of the relegation zone.
United, meanwhile, are eleven points behind Aston Villa and have all but given up on their Champions League dreams. The 20-time champions are facing their second trophyless season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, so naturally, this has caused many to question Ten Hag’s future as manager.
A brazen confession by Pickford
Pickford told talkSPORT that he had trust in his outfield teammates to beat the struggling Reds in this matchweek’s early kickoff.
I believe we will be able to take advantage of the guys’ work rate and intensity, as well as their running statistics. We can easily outrun them. In addition, they have a couple of injuries. However, the Manchester United team that shows up on game day is always a mystery.
Our manager and staff will lay out the strategy, while we concentrate on ourselves. In an effort to achieve that, we put that plan into action.
