Van Dijk pays tribute to Nunez following late Forest winner

The Uruguayan forward, who was out of the team’s last Premier League game against Luton Town because of a muscle ailment, rejoined Liverpool’s squad for the match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. He entered the game at the hour mark and scored the crucial goal for his team in the 99th minute to secure a significant victory.

Following the game, Reds captain Virgil van Dijk praised Nunez’s influence on the match and emphasized the Uruguayan striker’s significance to the team in the 2023–24 season.

The Dutch player told reporters, “The game was not over, so I still had belief.” Throughout my tenure here, we have consistently demonstrated our perseverance. We persist continuously. We discovered a solution, which is important. Darwin has been crucial for us this season, and it’s fantastic to see him back in action. The goal was significant, and the victory at the end was well earned.
