Unbelievable this is too much: Erik ten Hag told Man Utd players ‘lack respect’ for him after yet another bust-up
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has been informed that his team is becoming disenchanted with him because they are too at ease taking offense.
Given his recent poor form, Erik ten Hag’s reign at Manchester United has reached yet another low after he was informed that his players don’t respect him.
In addition to being eliminated from the Carabao Cup and facing elimination from the Champions League, the Red Devils have already dropped six league games this season. As a result, Ten Hag is beginning to feel the heat, and off-field problems are not going away anytime soon.
After openly doubting the England international’s motivation in training earlier in the season, the United manager had a falling out with £73 million player Jadon Sancho. Conversely, the former star of Borussia Dortmund hasn’t been spotted wearing a United shirt since late August, raising questions about his long-term future with the team.
Ten Hag seems to have trouble keeping the peace in the locker room. The United manager and Anthony Martial, who obviously took offense at something his manager said, were seen getting into a furious shouting match during last Saturday’s loss at Newcastle.
The fact that these fallouts are public suggests that Ten Hag’s reputation within the United team has suffered, at least according to former Red Devil Tim Howard. The former United goalkeeper stated to NBC, “Players will find any justification to screw up and to blame someone else for their mistakes.
And it has been that way at United for a very long time. During our two conversations with Bruno Fernandes, he bluntly stated that Ten Hag is a strict disciplinarian who expects us to follow his instructions and arrive on time.
Wow, we kind of liked this guy, we thought. He handled the huge situation involving Cristiano Ronaldo very well, so we sat back and watched and listened. Yet ever since, he has had disagreements with Martial, Rashford, Varane, Maguire, and Sancho.
And I seem to recall having played for teams led by prominent figures like David Moyes and Sir Alex Ferguson. After a few instances of setting an example, everyone else tends to follow suit. They have disagreements with players on a regular basis. Accordingly, I believe there is a lack of decency there.”
Following that, United will host Chelsea on Wednesday. Should United lose, speculation about Ten Hag’s involvement in the Old Trafford scandal will only grow.
