To end rumors that he would rejoin Manchester United in the Premier League, Carlo Ancelotti has signed a new deal with Real Madrid.
Actually, we have always doubted the reports claiming that the former manager of Chelsea and Everton was returning to England to take Erik ten Hag’s place at Old Trafford (Cadena Cope).
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS assumed control of Manchester United’s football operations, Ten Hag’s future would never be decided without their approval. In the meantime, it seems that INEOS is more concerned with providing Ten Hag with a clear, cohesive, and top-tier sporting structure than with moving him.
The kind that no United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson has been able to experience.
For now, the Manchester United manager is safe.
Meanwhile, Ancelotti’s personal future is no longer quite as murky. Ancelotti has signed a new contract that may keep him at Real Madrid until the summer of 2026, despite those Man United connections and the persistent rumors that suggest he should be playing for Brazil.
During his second stint at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ancelotti has Real Madrid leading La Liga and leading the reigning champions Barcelona by seven points. The 64-year-old Italian has assisted Jude Bellingham in making yet another significant advancement in his career and has handled the departure of Karim Benzema with skill.
At Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti will remain
Another former Chelsea coach, Graham Potter, has a good number of fans at INEOS. However, the wise choice is for Ten Hag to stay put until the very end of the current campaign.
