Since Kostas Tsimikas, another left-back, has also been injured, the 29-year-old’s recuperation has drawn even more attention. Still, Klopp acknowledged during his pre-Newcastle press conference today that Robertson is still “not close” to making a comeback.

The manager remarked, “Robbo still needs more range in his shoulder.” “Even after the major surgery, he is still not close.” He can accomplish a lot in [individual] training even though he isn’t using his arm correctly. undoubtedly positive, but it also highlights how far we still have to go. I do believe that he needs to get closer and closer by January.

Additionally, Klopp provided an update on when Alexis Mac Allister will next be seen by Liverpool supporters.

“We’ll see what Macca can do today, whether he can join the team for training or not,” the manager remarked. “The choice hasn’t been made yet. We’ll see.

Robertson is not yet prepared.
This is hardly a totally shocking revelation from Klopp. It had always seemed likely that Robertson would return by the end of January.

It is, however, a little annoying. There wouldn’t have been an issue if Tsimikas had been healthy.
