“I would hide out in Everton pubs and drink to get people to stop bothering me. I’m a hero from Liverpool.”
Though the German midfielder enjoyed his time at Anfield, Didi Hamann occasionally required time away from the fans to avoid being irritated.

When asked about his stance on bars, legendary player Didi Hamann once confessed that he would change his mind.
When asked about his stance on bars, legendary player Didi Hamann once confessed that he would change his mind.

“Didi” has admitted that when Dietmar Hamann wanted some peace and quiet in the pub, he would occasionally head to the blue side, despite his profound love for Liverpool.

Although the German wasn’t a spectacular or eye-catching player, he left an impression on the fans of the teams he played for. The fact that he converted a penalty kick in the 2005 Champions League final was certainly a plus for Liverpool. Hamann played in nearly 200 games for the Scouse team after a long and productive stint with Bayern Munich. He then joined the Reds in 1996 from Newcastle United.

But in an interview with Peter Crouch, he admitted that he often went to the blue side of Merseyside for a drink when he just wanted to escape the fans.

Bayern Munich is reportedly “set to sack Thomas Tuchel” in a move to gain an advantage over Liverpool in the Xabi Alonso transfer market.

That Peter Crouch Podcast featured Hamann’s statement, “They didn’t harass me in the red pubs, but sometimes you want a bit of peace.” So said Hamann. If I were to go out for a pint by myself, it would be because I am not in the mood to converse with anyone. I wouldn’t venture out on my own if I were seeking company!

1. Kylian Mbappe “held Liverpool talks on FSG private jet” before informing PSG he was leaving.
2. Jose Mourinho claims that Manchester United should be champions in 2018, laying into Manchester City on more than 115 charges.
3. An older model shows off her pubic hair in revealing underwear.
On the other hand, Liverpool fans are really thoughtful, I’ll give them that. Harassment is not an issue, unlike, instance, in Italy. Not that I’ve ever played there, but apparently they reach out and touch you, and they’re always wanting to take pictures. They were just interested in shaking your hand or getting your autograph, so it was fine because there weren’t any actual camera phones back then. Still, blue pubs were probably my favorite hangouts.
