OFFICIAL NOW: Arsenal have internally agreed personal terms to sign World class striker who netted 20goals in all competition last season – Player to arrive soon to discuss on salary terms
Arsenal has only added Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and made David Raya’s loan permanent during this quiet summer transfer window.
Although manager Mikel Arteta stated that Arsenal might sign a striker before the transfer window expires on August 30, the team is anticipated to finalise the deal soon.
“We are really happy with the squad,” Arteta said to Sky Sports (via the Mirror) following their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday. It’s true that we missed Gabriel Jesus and suffered a damage from him. We’re running a little short, but we’ll take action if it’s possible.
“I saw the games today, and every one of them is a tremendous brawl; the calibre of coaches in the league has raised the bar once more. We will focus on Brighton as we have two out of two.
Though he is not a natural striker, Kai Havertz is currently under contract with Arsenal. The German finished the last campaign with 13 goals and seven assists, but the North Londoners may try to recruit another center-forward.
Victor Osimhen of Napoli is reportedly a target for Mikel Arteta’s team.
However, the Gunners may not be able to afford a deal given that the Nigerian wants outrageous earnings in addition to a hefty transfer price.
Arsenal may decide to focus on Ivan Toney of Brentford, who is likewise well-regarded for his ability to score goals.
If the 28-year-old is offered a fee of approximately £45 million, the Bees are reportedly willing to approve his departure.
There is just one week left in the transfer market, so the North Londoners need to make a serious effort to recruit a quality striker.
