Before the transfer deadline, Manchester United is about to part ways with yet another midfield player.

Recently, the Red Devils and Napoli reached a £25 million agreement for Scott McTominay, a midfield player. It is expected that the Scot would sign with the Serie A powerhouses in the coming days.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Burnley and Hannibal Mejbri, a midfield player, have struck a verbal agreement to sign. He’s going to be joining them on loan, with a buyout requirement.

The international player from Tunisia is having his medical today, and he will soon finalise his transfer to the Championship team.

He posted on X, saying, “Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United has been verbally agreed to by Burnley.” Today’s club-to-club deal included medical testing and an obligatory buy-back clause. Nearly there.

Mejbri made his senior debut in May 2021 after joining the Red Devils from Monaco in 2019. He never did, however, prove to be a valuable member of the team.

Only ten games were played by the 21-year-old in the first half of the previous campaign before he was loaned to Sevilla in January with a buyout option.

Quique Sanchez Flores, the Sevilla manager at the time, was unimpressed with Mejbri. He ultimately played for the struggling La Liga team in just six games.

Now that the Clarets are in the second division, the adaptable midfielder has the opportunity to establish himself.

The youthful player made an impression in the Championship for Birmingham City in the past. With assured playing time, he can develop his form and confidence.

His transfer could help the Red Devils in the future. The agreement will have a sizable sell-on clause. It’s also conceivable that the club will have the choice to resign him.
