Manchester United is now engaged in advanced negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Manchester United is on the verge of finalising the signing of Ugarte.
Both teams are seeking a permanent move.
Preliminary loan agreement remains feasible.

According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United are nearing the completion of a transfer agreement for Ugarte during the current summer transfer window. Although both United and PSG have a preference for a permanent transfer, there is still a chance of an initial loan arrangement with a subsequent commitment to purchase next season.
Previously, it was claimed that United expressed a strong interest in acquiring the services of the Uruguayan player, as they aim to reconstruct their team under the guidance of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS group. Nevertheless, the club deemed the midfielder’s valuation excessively expensive, given that the Ligue 1 winners were requesting £51 million ($66.2m).
Ugarte has been considered unnecessary by Luis Enrique, which has made Manchester club confident that they can finalise the trade before the transfer window closes.
Following a successful beginning to their 2024-25 Premier League season with a victory over Fulham last week, Erik ten Hag’s team will now confront Brighton in an away match on Saturday.
