Bruno Fernandes, captain of Manchester United, was very let down by a teammate in yesterday’s match against Aston Villa. Erik ten Hag’s squad had moments of brilliance at Villa Park, but they were ultimately defeated despite having played well there all season.

After a blistering start to the season, Unai Emery’s team has slowed down recently, but ten Hag’s might be on the opposite track.

United had a lot of good things happen today, including some promising wing play from players like Alejandro Garnacho.

It appears that Rasmus Hojlund’s purple patch is far from over, as he added another goal to his total.

Now the Dane is displaying the poise that goes along with his boundless energy and exceptional talent.

Even though Bruno Fernandes likely has few complaints about that United duo, he was extremely let down by a Harry Maguire-related incident in today’s match against Villa.

Maguire had an impressive performance, setting up Hojlund’s goal, but United’s captain still didn’t get a decision made in the 61st minute.

During the match against Villa, Bruno Fernandes became irate with Man United teammate Harry Maguire. As Gary Neville pointed out during the commentary, Maguire seemed to miss a golden opportunity. The incident was shown live on Sky Sports.

Fernandes whipped in a beautiful pass for Maguire to attack with United ahead 1-0.

On this particular occasion, though, the £80 million defender made the odd choice to pass up the opportunity.

Even though Maguire doubted he could reach the ball, it appeared to everyone else that he would.

It was clear from Fernandes’s irritated expression that United still needed a goal to beat an outstanding Villa team and earn all three points; the subsequent equalizer confirmed his suspicions.

In the end, though, United were victorious thanks to Scott McTominay’s trademark goal.

Plus, it seems like this was a performance from which to draw inspiration.

If the substitution is indeed due to an injury, then maybe the only negative will be Luke Shaw’s substitution at halftime.

Away from the outcome of today’s match, Andre Onana has lately lauded the abilities of a player that United sold.
