Man Utd feud may be brewing as Luke Shaw throws shade at two team-mates after Chelsea win

Luke Shaw attracted attention on Thursday with his social media posts, following Manchester United’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea.

After Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford, Luke Shaw liked a post about Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, causing a stir on social media on Thursday morning. Erik ten Hag benched Rashford and Martial for the most of United’s sixth Premier League victory in eight games.

Shaw started the game at left back and switched to center back to support Harry Maguire as Scott McTominay’s brace shut out the opposition.

Ten Hag caused a stir when he named his starting lineup, altering it four times from the terrible 1-0 loss at Newcastle United last Saturday.

His most important decision was to start Alejandro Garnacho on the left side for the eighth straight game, moving Marcus Rashford to the bench for Antony.

In addition, Rasmus Hojlund made a comeback for Martial; Victor Lindelof and Sofyan Amrabat replaced Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kobbie Mainoo, respectively.

Even though Chelsea was a bad team, United gave one of their best performances of the year, casting further doubt on Rashford’s future.

Only one open-play goal has been scored by the Red Devils No. 10 this year. His only other penalty came in November’s 3-0 victory against Everton.

Shaw also appeared to disparage Rashford and Martial on X, the former Twitter platform, following United’s victory over Chelsea.

Supporters with keen eyes saw that the 28-year-old had liked a post from the fan account @centredevils, which repeated sentiments from Patrice Evra.

As a pundit for Amazon, the Manchester United legend was present at Old Trafford and asked whether Rashford and Martial’s chances of rejoining the team were getting closer after full time.

He stated: “I think it will be tough for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to come back into the starting 11.”

The ‘Liked’ section of Shaw’s profile contained that post, implying that the England international supported Evra’s position.

He swiftly cleared his tracks, though, by unliking the post and then responding to @utdreport, another fan account, to reiterate that it was an error.

Shaw insisted, “Come on, don’t be silly, obviously not intentional [face palm emoji].”

Shaw is not very active on X; his most recent post was in September, when he responded to David de Gea’s farewell to United supporters by sending the Spanish goalkeeper a heart-shaped emoji.

His previous post from May indicated that he was eager to set the record straight following what appeared to be a mistake on the part of him or those in charge of his account while perusing through the feed.
