Arsenal
It will be great if we can sign Him because He is what Arsenal needs at the moment to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Man city for the league title’: Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva says Arteta must sign £65m if truly He is ready for this great challenge
Gilberto Silva, an Arsenal icon, has recommended that his former team acquire Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz once the summer transfer market opens.
Arsenal showed interest in the 25-year-old player last summer and made three unsuccessful bids on transfer deadline day.
Villa may need to sell some top players to comply with Premier League spending regulations. Silva thinks it would be beneficial for his Brazilian compatriot and Arsenal if he joined the team.
“He is advancing, improving, and has acclimated well to the Premier League,” stated the ex-Arsenal midfielder to Chris Wheatley.
Why not join Arsenal next season? It would be a beneficial decision for him and the club.
Jermaine Pennant stated that Luiz is superior to Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice. While this claim is debatable, it is undeniable that the Villa player possesses the qualities necessary to enhance Arsenal’s midfield.
“Rice is a valuable player, but there are superior midfielders in the Premier League currently,” Pennant stated on Kick Off on talkSPORT in December.
Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa is capable of outperforming Rice in all aspects. He contributes more by assisting and scoring goals compared to Rice.
He excels in creativity, flair, tackling, and breaking up play, similar to Rice.
“I would choose Douglas Luiz over Declan Rice without hesitation, even if Rice costs £100m and Luiz costs £60m.”
Rice has proven his worth after Arsenal invested £100 million in him last summer, establishing himself as one of the top midfielders in the country.
Adding Luiz to Arsenal’s team will enhance their strength, but it is uncertain if they can match Aston Villa’s requirements if they decide to sell the former Manchester City player in the summer.
