Arsenal defeated Aston Villa 2-0 Sunday to maintain their stellar start to the year.

Prior to Leandro Trossard scoring the game’s first goal, the North Londoners were behind for the majority of the match.

Then, at Villa Park, where they had previously lost, Thomas Partey scored the second goal to complete the three-point victory.

After the match, Mikel Arteta acknowledged that Arsenal might yet sign a player before the transfer window closes on August 30.

Having said that, it has just come to light that they are actively searching the continent for a custodian.

Joan Garcia is being pursued by Arsenal.
For the most of the summer transfer window, Arsenal has been connected to Joan Garcia as they seek to add a backup custodian in case Aaron Ramsdale leaves.

According to Spanish publication AS, The Gunners are increasing their interest in Espanyol’s Garcia because Ramsdale is reportedly in talks to join Wolves.

They are allegedly “threatening” to sign the 23-year-old, who had an incredible breakthrough season in LaLiga2 this past season.

Tottenham Hotspur is also interested in Garcia, who is said to have a release clause of £35 million.

An attacker should be Arsenal’s top priority.
Arsenal should prioritise acquiring an attacker, especially a striker, over the final five days of the transfer market.

Since Kai Havertz is the only other acknowledged striker at the team, the Gunners will have to wait anxiously to find out how long Gabriel Jesus will be sidelined due to injury. As such, reinforcements in that area are clearly needed.

Maybe Arsenal should pay Sporting’s number nine, Viktor Gyokeres, a salary.
