Finally done: 18yrs Young sensational reject Man city lucrative deal to a record-breaking contract with the Gunners
According to sources, Football Insider has learned that Arsenal player Ethan Nwaneri is likely to accept a record-breaking contract with the Gunners after receiving a significant offer from Manchester City.
Upon reaching the age of 17 on March 21, the 16-year-old will promptly enter into a professional agreement with the London-based organization.
Within a fortnight, Nwaneri’s current scholarship arrangement, which has generated fierce competition among Premier League sides, will be converted into a professional contract.
According to sources, Chelsea expressed a strong interest in the attacking midfield player, and Man City made a “significant” bid for him.
The 2007-born player has got the most salary ever given to an academy player in Arsenal’s history, which is an unprecedented contract for the team.
Manager Mikel Arteta and the club’s hierarchy highly esteem him for his development since he joined the academy in 2016.
The individual, who is of Nigerian descent and holds English citizenship, achieved the record for being the youngest player in the history of the Premier League. This milestone was accomplished at the age of 15 years and 181 days. The player made his professional debut for the Arsenal football club during the previous season, entering the game as a substitute in the later stages of their 3-0 triumph over Brentford, which took place away from their home stadium.
This season, he has been included in the senior matchday squad on six occasions in all competitions. In Arsenal’s recent 6-0 triumph against West Ham United, he entered the game as a substitute during the second half.
Across 13 matches in various tournaments this season, he has provided three assists and scored 13 goals for the under-19 and under-21 teams of the North London giants.
Arsenal supporters will be pleased to hear that Nwaneri has decided to prolong his contract with the club. They hold him in high esteem and hope that the management will provide him with more opportunities to showcase his talents.
