Erik ten Hag told he’s ‘finished’ at Manchester United after £340million failure
United travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to take on City, who won the Premier League. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe joining the club as a co-owner, Erik ten Hag’s future is uncertain.
The legendary Wim Kieft of the Netherlands has stated that Erik ten Hag’s time at Manchester United is over.
The 1988 European champions’ striker Kieft thinks Ten Hag’s future is already decided. Kieft played for Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Even though he is now a well-respected TV pundit in his native country, the 62-year-old has maintained that Sir Jim Ratcliffe was correct to fire United manager Jose Mourinho on the eve of the derby against Manchester City.
Something has been wrong with United for a long time, and Kit does not think Ten Hag was the coach who got Ajax back into Total Football.
“I anticipate that Ten Hag is in the midst of his last year at Manchester United because the football is still not to be seen,” Kieft stated.
Ten Hag’s working conditions at United are vastly different from those at City. Even at the highest levels of management, the neighbors exude an aura of camaraderie and genuine football spirit.
There are a number of ex-Barcelona players under the tutelage of technical director Txiki Begiristain, including Pep Guardiola. For quite some time, United has lacked a cohesive “team” of that caliber. The club must be in the midst of a major crisis.
Even though they were not managers with a small reputation, (Jose) Mourinho and (Louis) Van Gaal failed.
Erik did not come up with the Ajax style of play. He was fortunate to have a fantastic crop of young players, and Ajax had been playing that way for 50 years.
As United head to the Etihad Stadium, their season hangs in the balance, and Ratcliffe must decide the fate of Ten Hag after purchasing a 27.7 percent stake in the club for £1.3 billion. But Kieft thinks it’s obvious the Dutchman has wasted the opportunities presented to him during his 18 months at Manchester.
While Kieft was at the height of his club career with PSV as they won the European Championship in 1988, he also played for Pisa, Torino, and Bordeaux. In his weekly column for the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, he asserted: “Presenting Manchester City in Sunday’s derby will be an enormous challenge for Ten Hag.
Over the previous two seasons, he and Guardiola have spent about equal amounts on new players. Ten Hag was still unable to implement his preferred style of play at United despite spending over €400 million (£340 million) on both.
The thing I admire most about Guardiola is how rapidly each club he has managed has been able to implement his vision for the game. Whether it’s Manchester City, Bayern Munich, or Barcelona, he swiftly gets the football he represents in there.
Naturally, Guardiola has also benefited from a lot of money at all of his clubs. It is a relief when you can assemble the ideal team to implement your vision. There are more clubs that can afford to pay top salaries, so he personally enforces that. Many athletes aspire to play under his tutelage.
The choice between playing for a club that becomes structural champions (like Manchester City) or one that has to fight for a Champions League spot (like Manchester United) is not so difficult, according to Kieft.
Clubs do not want to listen solely to the manager when they have managers with a slightly lower reputation, which is also crucial. Even though PSG has a ton of cash on hand, they still haven’t figured out how to win games or establish a consistent style of play. regarding Europe
The fact that those who were fortunate enough to work with Guardiola for an extended period of time have chosen to adhere to his vision and playing style is fantastic; Guardiola has an impressive style of play.
Look at Arsenal, surely a lot of Guardiola’s football is there, and (Mikel) Arteta was his assistant for a long time.
