ENGLISH COACH BACKS JURGEN KLOPP AND PEP GUARDIOLA ‘HYBRID’ TO BE LIVERPOOL’S NEXT MANAGER

Liverpool is searching for Jurgen Klopp’s successor, as the club faces its most difficult challenge in decades.

Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson can both move on. The club is capable of coping. But, with Jurgen Klopp set to leave at the end of the season, this is the most devastating blow to Liverpool.

But who will become Liverpool’s next manager? And what kind of style should be used?

Former Championship manager Gary Rowett believes Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso will be the next man in the Anfield dugout, as reported by Sky Sports (27/01/24 at 2:25 pm).

The Englishman described Xabi Alonso as a cross between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, which is a pretty good combination!

On paper, the rising Spanish coach appears to be the ideal candidate for Liverpool.

The only cloud over his head is his lack of experience, but Gary Rowett isn’t concerned because he believes Xabi Alonso will be the next man through Liverpool’s doors.

Next Liverpool manager
“I think Liverpool will throw heaven and earth to get Xabi Alonso,” Rowett told the BBC. “I believe the reason is that he understands what it’s like to put on the shirt and experience instant synergy.

“He has been incredible for Leverkusen this season. They’ve been brilliant. In addition, he has worked under Guardiola and Klopp. When watching his teams play, he appears to be a hybrid. They are actually somewhere in the middle, so I believe he is unique enough while still possessing the characteristics of someone who could succeed.

“I’d be surprised if he’s not the next manager. “I believe he would be the next manager.”

Will the Liverpool fans want Xabi Alonso?
In terms of his credentials, the 42-year-old checks off a lot of boxes. Plus, he’s currently riding a wave, which helps.

The fact that Alonso is a former player who was a fan favorite at the club is an added bonus.

Then his style of play would be welcomed at Liverpool, so it’s not surprising that fans would support Alonso for the job.

According to sources, the high-flying Leverkusen manager is on the club’s list.

Liverpool must also consider that the next manager must be capable of winning the Premier League title in an instant.

The key players in that dressing room include Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah. They aren’t old enough to build; they need the present.
