‘Deal in Final stages’ – Fabrizio Romano provides update on Arsenal’s Second January transfer deal after successful negotiations with the club representative today – Official announcement soon
After three straight losses, Arsenal may not have had the quiet January transfer window they had anticipated.
The past few weeks have been detrimental for Mikel Arteta’s team, exposing the gaps in their exciting project.
Arsenal would also gain from the addition of a midfield player in addition to their evident need for a striker during the January transfer window.
Having said that, Arsenal and Everton’s Amadou Onana are currently in negotiations for a signing that could happen very soon.
In a recent update on X, journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed that extensive talks are currently in progress.
Onana wishes to remain in the Premier League and is eager to join Arsenal this month.
“Intensive talks are currently ongoing between Everton & Arsenal for Amadou Onana,” Tavolieri stated.
The Belgian midfielder is eager to move, having always prioritized staying in the Premier League.
“Things might happen very soon… watch and find out!
Although acquiring £58 million Onana would seem wise, opinions among supporters may differ.
Amadou Onana of Everton is being courted by Arsenal for a January transfer.
This news would have excited Arsenal supporters a lot a few weeks ago, or even in a different window.
The supporters would probably prefer to see that money go toward a striker, though, as the team’s biggest problem right now is a lack of goals.
Although Onana is a “outstanding” player, he does not score goals.
Conversely, some contend that adding a number six would improve midfield support for Arsenal’s current team, enabling them to score more goals.
Declan Rice would almost certainly move permanently to the number eight position if Onana were to join Arsenal during the January transfer window.
Arsenal’s wingers would be able to flourish with a formidable trio of Onana, Rice, and Martin Odegaard.
However, one of the team’s targets for a striker has now acknowledged that he supports Arsenal, which could lead to another transfer this month.
It’s evident that Arteta has some moving parts in January, and the upcoming weeks may be critical to any hopes for silverware.
