Pep Guardiola criticized Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, for his disrespect for the referees after Simon Hooper’s blunder cost Manchester City a thrilling draw with Tottenham.

Mikel Arteta has dismissed Pep Guardiola’s uninvited jab regarding his treatment of referees with humor.

After referee Simon Hooper made a huge error during stoppage time of his team’s Sunday draw with Tottenham, the manager of Manchester City was incensed. However, he declined to answer any queries, stating that he didn’t want to comment on Mikel Arteta.

As he gets ready for his Arsenal team’s Tuesday night match against Luton Town, Arteta has now been questioned about Guardiola’s jab. However, the Spaniard remained evasive, chuckling as the question was posed to him at his pre-game press conference before answering, “Thank you, and on to the next one, please. We can move on because I’ve had enough of both my plate and my garden.”

Hooper’s decision to reverse play and award Erling Haaland a free-kick after he had taken the lead when Jack Grealish attempted to break free infuriated City. However, Guardiola was eager to shift the attention to Arsenal, the title rivals, and his young player Arteta.

“Next question,” he brashly responded to a question regarding the incident from Sky Sports. “I won’t make any remarks about Mikel Arteta. The referee will now sound the whistle after signaling that play is on and after the pass. Thus, I’m not sure.

“We were aggressive and created a lot of opportunities. Similar to life, sometimes you don’t get what you deserve in football. Spurs deserve congratulations for the point. That’s how football works. Despite playing exceptionally well, Spurs were defeated by Aston Villa.

The task at hand was beyond our capabilities; we must press on. Today, the support was amazing. We might do better the next time. The number of opportunities they generate? Not much. Moving on to the following. Make a move.”

The Premier League leaders, Arsenal, who came in second last year, are now two points ahead of their rivals. However, as he gets ready to take on Rob Edwards’ Hatters, Arteta has refuted claims that he is motivated by City’s recent poor play.

“No encouragement. Watching the team play and seeing how eager and hungry they are gives you encouragement. Our control over the actions of others is unavoidable. These are things I don’t look at. The manager of Arsenal continued, “I’ve had enough staring at my squad.

You might not notice if I’m skilled at mind games. It’s a motivating place, in my opinion. It’s amazing what they accomplished. How they communicate as a team, what Rob did. Nearly, we are neighbors. Many accolades are due to them.”
