Breaking News: Man Utd submit proposal to sign £79m South American star – report
Man Utd offers to sign Raphinha, a winger for Barcelona
According to a report, Manchester United has offered Brazilian winger Raphinha to Barcelona in exchange for Jadon Sancho.
According to a report from the Spanish newspaper Sport, Manchester United has offered Barcelona Jadon Sancho in exchange for Brazilian winger Raphinha.
According to the report, Manchester United has “asked” the European powerhouses if Sancho could be traded, and the Catalans are willing to consider letting Raphinha go this winter.
Sport reports that Barcelona values the South American winger at approximately £79 million [$100 million], which is significantly more than the £55 million they paid for him 18 months ago. As a result, any possible transfer won’t come cheap.
The former Leeds United winger has had a difficult time with the Spanish team, and in recent months, there have been rumors that he may be leaving. The player may have a thrilling opportunity to return to the Premier League. With Leeds, the Brazilian was able to play some of his best football in England, and going back to his familiar surroundings might help him reach his peak again.
Raphinha’s performances with Barcelona have been too patchy, despite his occasional moments of brilliance. Sancho, on the other hand, does not have a future at Manchester United due to a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. It’s obvious that his high-profile departure from Borussia Dortmund was a mistake, and it would be best for both sides to move on.
The 23-year-old may have an exciting opportunity to move to Barcelona, so a swap agreement might be beneficial to all parties.
Manchester United could be transformed by Raphinha.
Raphinha can play on either flank and will provide creativity and goals in the closing third of the game. Manchester United will need to add more quality players if they hope to close out the season on a high note. They are in dire need of attacking reinforcements in January.
Given their lackluster start to the season and their vulnerability to elimination from the UEFA Champions League, it is understandable why Erik ten Hag is pursuing a transfer to Raphinha.
A deal won’t be simple, though, as Sport reports that Saudi Arabian teams are also interested in signing the 27-year-old Barcelona winger, putting United in competition for his services.
Due to their financial struggles, the Spanish powerhouses may decide to sell him to Saudi teams at a premium rather than trade for Sancho, who hasn’t played at his peak level in more than a year.
