After a wild night out in Belfast, Marcus Rashford failed to report to Manchester United’s training, and the player’s antics quickly became a point of contention.

Some of Marcus Rashford’s relationships within the Manchester United dressing room have reportedly been strained as a result of his night out in Belfast.

Last month, the forward got himself into trouble after a late night out in a Belfast nightclub meant he missed training the following day. To make matters worse, he attempted to convince the club that the incident had occurred the night before, instead of the day before, a scheduled day off.

This has hurt his standing as a leader on the team, and he took the punishment he deserved by sitting out the FA Cup match against Newport County the day after the incident. The Daily Mail states that he has since discussed the matter with Erik ten Hag, but that their relationship is limited to that of colleagues.

This is Rashford’s second incident of unwanted attention this season due to his actions off the field. Despite the Red Devils’ 3-0 loss in front of their own fans at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby, he still went out partying to celebrate his birthday.

It seems like Rashford’s coworkers are irritated by his choices. Before scoring a breathtaking goal in the derby last weekend, the England international sought to emphasize his dedication to the club in an article he penned for the Players’ Tribune last week. In the piece, he revealed his love for the club.

From last season, when he was arguably United’s best player, the academy graduate has seen a significant decline this year. He scored more goals than any other player in his career last season, but his performance this year has been lackluster, and his body language has drawn criticism.

Rashford needs to stop acting like a rookie and start taking responsibility for his actions, according to Roy Keane of the Stick to Football podcast. “Something has to give for him [Marcus Rashford],” he asserted. “No one would give you a pat on the back or say, ‘Well done for missing training yesterday.'” when we entered the locker room.

On one occasion, I returned to Manchester United four or five hours after leaving to attend a reserve match in Nottingham.

Sometimes you have to fend for yourself, and you’re mentioning that Marcus is going to receive protection. In the locker room, you’re an experienced player at 26 years old. “I have been an idiot,” you must admit with a raised hand.
