Deal has been Approved – Arsenal Top Midfielder target, better and faster than Thomas Partey has agreed to complete move to London club, medicals scheduled for Today after overnight agreement

Amadou Onana, a midfield player for Everton, is reportedly wanted by Barcelona, but Arsenal has already “launched an offensive” to sign him, according to Mundo Deportivo (page 3).

The Gunners have long admired the Belgian international, and they first showed interest in signing him during the 2023 winter transfer window.

Despite the club’s continued connections to the former Lille midfielder, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona has made him their top target.

The Gunners have already made one attempt to sign the 22-year-old, though it is unclear if a deal would be pursued during the current transfer window.

Everton is reportedly considering making a bid of between €70 and €90 million for the highly regarded midfield player. Barcelona is also interested, though they most likely won’t take any action until the summer.

Arsenal may decide to wait to pursue Onana.
The Belgian has improved as a midfield player thanks to his strong defensive attributes. He has won an incredible 2.6 tackles per league game this season in addition to 65 percent of his duels.

He has also recovered 6.5 balls every game. The fact that Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in him is hardly shocking. Onana has the potential to become well-known worldwide.

Arsenal is interested in signing him, but we believe that any approach might not come until the summer because of budgetary restrictions. The team needs player sales to justify such an expensive purchase.

The signing of a top striker is currently the Gunners’ top priority for this month. That seems unlikely even. The club is willing to split the money with Eddie Nketiah in order to recover a portion of it.

We don’t believe a deal will close this winter because of this. Everton might also decide not to sell Onana because they are engaged in yet another premier league relegation struggle.
