Following their altercation during Manchester United’s loss at Newcastle, Erik ten Hag is currently battling a dressing room that is starting to question him more and more.

At Manchester United, Erik ten Hag is dealing with a revolt in the locker room as a number of his players are reportedly fed up.

This season, United has lost ten of their twenty-one games, and their crushing 1-0 loss to Newcastle on Saturday may have been their worst showing to date. During the loss, Anthony Martial and Ten Hag got into a heated argument about Martial’s low work rate, and Marcus Rashford, another striker, came under fire for lacking motivation.

According to United sources, a number of players are not happy with their current situation, and Ten Hag is now up against it to keep most of his squad loyal. Ten Hag has a busy schedule of games coming up, starting tomorrow at home against Chelsea and continuing with a crucial Champions League match against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford on Tuesday. On December 17, Ten Hag will travel to Liverpool, one of their fiercest rivals.

With United currently in seventh place in the Premier League, there is fear that the discontent in some corners of the locker room may grow if things do not improve.

Winner of the World Cup Raphael Varane has fallen from grace and been dropped, while Jadon Sancho, a winger, is still in exile after publicly disagreeing with Ten Hag on social media.

Sancho has been training alone for the last three months, ever since he refused to accept Ten Hag’s explanation for leaving him out of the squad that suffered a 3-1 loss to Arsenal on September 3.

Sancho is said to have kept up his fitness and is “training like a beast” despite being banished to train at the Academy, according to one source. Several of his teammates want to see him reintegrated back into Ten Hag’s squad.

Ten Hag has maintained that Sancho can return to the team after he has expressed regret. The England player, however, has declined to do so because he feels he has a right to self-defense following his manager’s remarks.

However, given that Rashford, Martial, and Antony are all having form issues, some United players believe Ten Hag’s intransigent attitude is misguided and hurting the team.
