Bad News: Man City dealt major injury blow ahead of Manchester United
Prior to the Manchester derby, Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has provided the team with updates.
Jack Grealish will miss the Manchester derby, according to Pep Guardiola, as the forward will be out for several more weeks.
Grealish was on the bench against Bournemouth in the previous league game, but he recovered from a groin injury ahead of schedule and started in the FA Cup victory over Luton in midweek. But the England international’s suffering wasn’t over yet, as the issue forced him off the field once more.
Although Guardiola is unsure of Grealish’s return date, he does not anticipate seeing him before this month’s international break. This would mean he would miss not only the derby but also the Champions League matches at home against Copenhagen, the Premier League away against Liverpool, and the FA Cup quarterfinal against Newcastle.
Guardiola stated, “I don’t think [he will be back before the internationals].” “I believe he needs to heal well in order to be used as much as possible. I haven’t discussed this with the doctors yet. There is another option available to us. Life will always include setbacks; what matters is how you respond to them.”
Given that their win percentage is substantially higher when Grealish is on the team, Guardiola will still have a difficult time fitting in his attacking ability, but City will miss him. The team that defeated Luton 6-2 is likely to include Rodri and Phil Foden, and Oscar Bobb, Jeremy Doku, and Julian Alvarez are also strong candidates.
“We have 20 important players. Guardiola said, “Everyone is so important, and it’s so nice to have those fixtures.” “First, we play Anfield, and then we have the opportunity to play Newcastle for the fourth time this season in the FA Cup semi-final, with the goal of qualifying for the Champions League.” Since coming here, we have worked hard to experience these kinds of moments. They are the finest.
