Arsenal given four reasons to be excited as Arteta eyes title charge after Dubai break
Arsenal have jetted off to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp during their two-week break from competition. The Gunners need to reorganize after a terrible run of form, so the break has arrived just in time.
Arsenal has only scored five goals in their past seven games, and they have only won one of those games. However, there is some hope for the Arsenal supporters. After their mid-season break, there are a few good reasons to be optimistic about what lies ahead at the Emirates. We are currently examining four of them.
Return to the grass with timbers
As he continues his road to recovery following an ACL tear, Jurrien Timber is back on the training field. After spending £38.5 million to acquire the Dutch defender from Ajax in the summer, he was limited to playing in just two competitive games before spending the last five months in the medical room.
At the earliest, Timber is anticipated to return to action in March, which means the adaptable defender could support Arsenal’s title defense in the closing stages of the campaign.
Jesus has resumed working out with the first team.
The Gooners were shocked to learn that Gabriel Jesus had sustained another knee injury, but the Brazilian has since recovered and is back in training with the first team. He missed Arsenal’s devastating 2-0 FA Cup loss to Liverpool, but he should be available for the team’s next match on January 20 against Crystal Palace.
Following an injury, Vieira was seen playing with the squad once more.

Fabio Vieira is another player who has expedited his recuperation. The Portuguese midfielder, who hasn’t played since November due to a groin operation, was seen practicing with the squad in Dubai.
Although Vieira has only made three starts in all competitions this year, his absence has caused a disruption in Arsenal’s midfield, as Emile Smith-Rowe and Thomas Partey have both been sidelined for extended periods of time due to injuries. Since then, Smith-Rowe has recovered, but Vieira and Partey have not yet played.
Returning by the end of January, partey
After missing the Africa Cup of Nations because of a persistent thigh injury, Thomas Partey is anticipated to make a comeback to the field by the end of this month. The Ghanaian international has intensified his recuperation efforts, and if all goes according to plan, he might play on January 30 against Nottingham Forest.
As Arteta looks to explore playing Declan Rice further up the field in more of a No 8 role, Arsenal would welcome the return of the deep-lying midfielder, who the team has really missed this season.
